Devon Saddler from Delaware has been selected for StatSheet's CAA Player of the Week for January 30th. Drexel's Damion Lee has won StatSheet CAA Freshman of the Week. And last but certainly not least, Dartaye Ruffin from Drexel is StatSheet's CAA 6th Man of the Week.
Saddler led the all of the CAA in scoring (20.67 pts per game) and free throws (6.0 per game). He also tallied a respectable 3.3 rebounds per game. The Delaware sophomore played well in a win versus Towson and losses to Northeastern and Drexel.
Saddler led the Fightin' Blue Hens in scoring with 16 points and added 4 steals in a 62-43 win over Towson. He then led all scoring with 24 points and added 2 assists in a 62-61 loss to Northeastern. Finally, Saddler led all scoring and rebounding with 22 points and 5 rebounds, closing out the week with a 71-55 loss to Drexel.
This is the first StatSheet CAA Player of the Week award for Devon Saddler. However, he has been a runner-up once. The runner-up this week is senior Ryan Pearson from George Mason. Honorable mention goes to Samme Givens, a senior from Drexel. The highest ranking player from James Madison was Andrey Semenov who finished 10th.
StatSheet CAA Freshman of the Week: Drexel's Damion Lee
Damion Lee was on the floor an average of 22 minutes while starting all 3 games for Drexel. In a 64-48 win over William & Mary, Lee registered 17 points and 6 rebounds. Following that in a massive 68-46 win over Georgia State, he dialed up 5 points and 2 rebounds. And closing it out with a 71-55 win versus Delaware, Lee racked up 9 points and 5 rebounds.
Amazingly, Damion Lee has won the StatSheet CAA Freshman of the Week 3 times. Jarvis Threatt from Delaware grabs runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Treveon Graham from Virginia Commonwealth. Arman Marks, who finished 5th, was the highest ranking freshman for James Madison.
StatSheet CAA 6th Man of the Week: Drexel's Dartaye Ruffin
Dartaye Ruffin, a sophomore and a 6-8 forward, averaged 27 minutes over the three games for the Dragons. In the win over William & Mary, Ruffin led the way for the Dragons with 18 points and added 3 blocked shots. After that, in the win against Georgia State, he racked up 9 points and 8 rebounds. Finally, in the win over Delaware, Ruffin put up 6 points and 5 rebounds.
This is the second StatSheet CAA 6th Man of the Week win for Dartaye Ruffin. Jonathan Arledge, a sophomore forward from George Mason, is runner up. Kauri Black, a junior forward from Northeastern, earns honorable mention. James Madison players have not yet been named StatSheet CAA Player of the Week this season.
